Frames
In addition to doors, Key-Key Door also contains a tremendous amount of stock frames on the warehouse floor. Our knock-down inventory includes the most common throat sizes of 3 3/4", 4 7/8" and 6 1/8" in various heights and widths. Furthermore, we have welded frames in 4 7/8" ready for pick-up. We are also capable of welding frames on site and able to make necessary modifications.
Metal Thickness
Our stock doors are manufactured with 16 gauge steel. Hollow metal doors are also available for custom order in 14 and 12 gauge steel as well.
Components of a Frame
Types of Frames
Welded frame - Frames where the joints between the head and jamb are welded along the face of the frame at each corner on the visible side of both faces. These frames are typically used for masonry or exterior openings.
Knock-down Frame - Frames that the joints between the head and jamb are connected together by interlocking tabs into slots near the corners. These frames are typically used for new construction interior and drywall openings.
